Pakistan is one of the most under-rated places when it comes to tourism. The country’s tourist destinations remain un tapped and hidden. From the snow covered peaks of Northern Areas to thick mangroves kissing the Arabian sea, Pakistan’s geographical landscape features every topographical wonder one yearns for.
“Pakistan is the Switzerland of Asia”, said the former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Quite rightly so, contrary to the constant media frenzy, the country has twelve weathers, hospitable populace, rich mouth watering food, a super culture having strong historical roots evident in the archeological marvels of Indus Valley and what not?
Pakistan’s Northern Areas boast the conjunction of three mighty mountain ranges, Himalayas, Karakoram and Hindu Kush. These ranges in turn, paint a unique scenery respective to their stretch, exhibiting a panoramic delight. For instance, on the one hand, these ranges display lush green meadows of Kashmir and Swat vallies- to name a couple only.
On the other hand, rugged mountains having cold desert (Katpana Desert) and pasturelands are reminiscent of an oasis in the high lands. Moreover, the spectrum includes the second highest peak in the world, K-2 and five peaks above eight thousand meters in height standing right next to the Tibetan Plateau nicknamed “The Roof Of The World”. These hills hold levitating lakes in isolation, staring the sky, and the beauty of the view simply unfathomable!
This, however , is only the beginning of the epic saga of the beauty, Pakistan holds. As we move down south the fertile plains of Indus serve as food basket, yielding mega crops and authentic fruits. The spread of plains present us with diverse eco system highlighting deserts like Thal, Thar and Cholistan all the way up to the delta of Indus River, where it falls into Indian Ocean. South West (Balochistan) has an altogether different vibe of its own wherein, it bolsters chilling heights of Ziarat covered with juniper forests and hot plains mimicking Grand Canyons.
This is Pakistan, showcasing all the hues on the canvas of tourism, either you are adventure seeker, or are leisure hunter, religion moves you, or food magnetizes you, you are welcome to this beautiful country sitting at cross roads of Asian cultures.
